Chere returns her plate and decides to
sit by the garden before retiring for the
night.
Chere has heard a “voice” say, “I suggest
you stock up on Stellaflora. It's in big demand this
time of year.” So while she waits to hear from
Cordelia or Professor T she researches her plant book:
Star Anisette Star Jasmine
Stella
Flora, Considered the symbol of the Alps often it is
searched from the tourists also to risk of their
incolumità and the passing of the species. One rosette
of leaves bases them from which dipartono one or more
driven in hairy stalks and therefore nearly white …the
flowers approximately 5 millimeter; leaves many hairy
women to you, than sporgono constituting the beams of
the star. (Google translation from Italian)
"Oh
dear, either the translator isn't working or this is one
strange plant. Then again strange seems to fit
here."
She goes back to her store plans. She
remembers all Grizz had to say about Veronica; her
flare, clothing and SHOES, and decides to ask if she'd
help design the storefront. Waiting to stocking the
WHOOPS when it's built seems best. She adds "talk
to Kestryll about delievery" to her To Do
list.
Looking off into the lights and shadows she
wonders how long it will be before she can begain
exploring once more. Chere dreams of days and times to
come...
During the night, a strange purple
myst (smelling slightly of acorn mead), drifts down to
the third sub-level of the DISCO. A soft wail is heard
coming from somewhere in the myst -- Grizz, Grizz, Grizz
...
Chuckles58 returns to the cavern
after a well deserved day off. Before going out to
patrol the streets of Ae'gura, he pulls out a box of
assorted scraps of cloth. Finding a suitable strip of
purple cloth, he ties it around his arm, then heads out
of the security office with a heavy heart, but can't
help but smile. Before long his smile has been replaced
by a wide grin.
Outside the office, he hears what
he thinks is buzzing around his ears. He waves his hands
as if to chase away an annoying
mosquito.
What's that. It must be summer's
not far away.
Knowing the number of visitors
to the cavern will no doubt continue to increase, he
decides it may be high time to do some spring cleaning.
Besides, the seasonal work in the D'ni Tax Preparation
Office is mostly finished, and Yeesha had REQUESTED that
he see about giving the Bahro, the least, full
employment.
As he walks off, dragging his still
sore foot he begins thinking about a tribute article for
The Echo. Considering Elkae's resourcefulness during the
Prison scene from the MOTBC, her final adventure and the
fact that she had experimented in making Acorn Mead and
several varieties of champagnes on her Relto, he decided
on the title of the article:
Bag, Burro

Story
---------------------------- "Where
are the donuts?" - Atrus (realMyst) Save URU Live
Having seen that the rescue of Elkae
from the lake was well underway, Ronda had linked back
to the surface for a couple of days.
Returning
late in the evening, she checked out the various notes
on the imager.
"Geology...hmm. Cool." Then she
tapped the end of her Very Long Braid against her upper
lip as the next message came on. "Elkae? Oh no!" She
supposed the rescue hadn't come out so well after
all.
Sighing, she wandered down to the DISCO.
Giving the girl behind the counter a wry grin, Ronda
headed down the aisles. Boatingirl's and RW's research
had given her an idea. Maybe not a practical one, but
one never knew.
Carrying the set of glass vials
carefully -- she had forgotten to grab a shopping basket
at the door -- she returned to the counter, where the
girl processed the simple transaction efficiently if a
bit distractedly. Ronda stowed the vials in her backpack
and went out into the hood for a quick run around.
Peering interestedly at the 'opening soon' sign at
WHOOPS, she grinned.
"Feed me,
Seymour!"
Still giggling to herself, she linked
to her Relto and thence to the Nexus, having forgotten
there was a Nexus book there in the hood... To the city
she went and up through the cavern passage, enjoying the
peaceful sound of water dripping. On to the Library and
out to the broken edge of the cliff there.
After
a great deal of awkward scrambling and several
accidental panic links, she made it down to the water's
edge...
Some time later, tired but pleased, Ronda
returned to the Institute and found Boatingirl's Geology
station door. Finding no one else about, Ronda arranged
her collection neatly against the wall near the door.
Brightest to dimmest, the line of carefully labelled
vials glowed a continuum of orange to
clear.
Backing up to survey her instalment, she
stumbled over an uneven floor tile and rolled onto her
rear. She rolled back up to her feet and dusted her seat
off, smiling faintly, glad she hadn't hit her head. Her
stomach took this opportune moment to
rumble.
"Egg room," she said firmly, knowing that
would be the closest place to find more than coffee and
fig newtons.

Chere starts to move in items for her
Shoppe. Her first "relocation" is her cat Seymour
"Seymour you be good
now. Stay inside the Shoppe 'cause there's a dawg
guarding the Hood. As soon as things settle down I'll
introduce you. He's a very nice dog and I hope you will
get along with him"
Seymour doesn't bother
answering he just purrs. Chere has just opened a can of
Fancy Kitty Treats and he could care less about using
his mouth for anything but eating at the
moment.
Waking bright and early (well not quite
as early as she had hoped for - but then after last
night it's not really surprising!) - Cordelia returns to
the Institution with just one thing on her mind.......
Breakfast
As she links in near
the fountain she notices Chere busy moving things
in.
"Hi Chere, are you moving in permanently?"
she asks.
"Yes," replies Chere, "I left you a
note but I am going to be setting up Shoppe here in the
hood. Could you suggest a likely place for me to set up
CHERE'S WONDER HOME OF ORIGINAL
PLANTS?"
Cordelia stands and ponders for a
moment then she decides on the ideal place.
"How
about by the lake on the spot by the telescope? Would
that be appropriate? The plants would get plenty of lake
breeze although sadly we don't have any sunlight down
here in the cavern, so I trust you will be selling
plants that thrive in the dark."
Cordelia
suddenly stops speaking and sniffs the air.
"Do I
smell acorn mead?" she asks "and what's that purple myst
drifting up from the light
garden?"

"Chere, that's a very kool kat you have
there. And what a wonderful idea for a shop! Yes, if the
telescope balcony could be adapted, that would be
perfect. This is just the sort of upmarket establishment
this place needs. And we can use some of those powerful
lamps the DRC left to provide sufficient
light."
Professor T notices the purple haze
rising from the light garden and wonders if Jimi Hendrix
is about to appear.
While Professor T is pondering Jimi
Hendrix, MrD is thinking about Glade air freshener and
Smoke on the Water (Deep Purple). And The Artist
Formerly Known As Prince (Purple
Rain).
Thietris - is it safe to have so many
cats around with you being a squirrel
One of my previous
cats used to chase squirrels and a neighbour of mine saw
him catch one once. I'm not sure how the squirrel fared
but the cat was not harmed

I
think I'm prepared to take the risk, Cordelia. After
all, you wouldn't normally expect squirrels and dawgs to
get on. No, it's Veronica who scares me.
Veronica had a lot on her mind. Unusual,
but true.
First, she had the envelope that Grizz had given her the
day before. She was still a bit scared by what he had
said. What did he think was going to happen to
him?
Second, she had the Fed Ex tracking number
from the package that Dr. Elkae had sent. She wanted to
speak to her directly about her findings. (Apparently
Veronica was unaware of Dr. Elkae's demise. )
Tucking the
envelope from Grizz in her pocket, she made a phone call
to Fed Ex.
